The World Hepatitis Day is now an annual event which occurs on the 28th July.
This provides an international focus for support patient groups and people who live with viral hepatitis.
The World Hepatitis Day was launched by the World Hepatitis Alliance in 2008 to address concerns that persons living with chronic viral hepatitis were not afforded a sufficient level of awareness about their disease nor do they benefit from the same level of political and financial priority at National Government Levels as other diseases such as HIV/AIDS.
